Windsurfing: Golf course car park, Ynslas Wind Direction: S Wind Stength: 10mph intially - 30mph at the Surf / Sea State: close set waves Air Temperature: 13C Sea Temperature: Weather: Rain Max Speed: Distance Covered:
Arrived at the car park with Glen and Bongo only to find a small amount of
wind. 2 other windsurfers were there including a guy from Rugby and
Chopper. The foircast was for Gale force winds so I rigged the 5.3 thinking
that it would pick up. Everyone got cold waiting around in the rain and
eventually after a few hours the wind started to pick up so we all went
out. Everyone was underpowered to start with so we all drifted downwind
with the strong Southerly drift. the 2 other windsurfers out were on 5.8
and 5.5 and everyone strugled so we all came for a rest on the beach whilst
Glen and Bongo were getting thrown about in the waves. Bongo managed to
snap the mast whilst Glen tore his small sail. Everyone decided to call it
a day except for me and Chopper and as soon as everyone was walking in, the
wind really filled in and I was well powered up although I was finding it
really difficult on my big board with the close set waves. I soon became
overpowered as the wind was picking up all the time so I called it a day.
Got back to the car park and Glen hadf just finished rigging his 5.5. He
went out again and didn't last long as the wind was absolutely howling. The
rain throughout the session didn't help and it was never that pleasent.
